We also commissioned Helen to produce 100 Limited Edition miniature cold cast William McFadzean VC busts.
These were cold cast, approximately 8 inches in height and are miniature versions of the bronze sculpture of William that was unveiled in 2018 in Lurgan, County Armagh.
The sculptures were priced at £120.00 each. The busts were shipped to customers across the world.
We would like to take this opportunity and thank everyone who purchased one of the busts. Your support made this project possible.
The Society commissioned renowned Scottish artist, Helen Runciman, to produce a bronze sculpture of William, that would be mounted on a granite plinth.
Helen is a full-time professional artist based in Denny, Stirlingshire, Scotland. Her work ranges from small delicate watercolours to large mysterious oil paintings. Her subject matter is varied and, although now working mainly figuratively, her work encompasses landscapes, seascapes and street scenes.
In 2015 Helen was commissioned by a Glasgow Rangers Supporters Club to create a similar sculpture, shown above, in memory of the teams legendary player, Sandy Jardine.
Helen drew a few initial sketches to
gave the Society an idea of how the
finished sculpture might look.
The members deliberated on the
sketches and finally agreed that the
sketch, shown here, should be used.
